THURROCK'S Foodbank team continues to be overwhelmed with support from Thurrock-based businesses who are rallying to help it provide essential supplies to families in need across the borough.
The Foodbank has received a huge donation of food from the Thurrock Co-op Distribution centre.
Business co-ordinator Sandra Sawle says: "The Co-op has donated 42kg of food to us. In these difficult times these extra donations mean so much and allow us to continue supporting those in crisis in our community."
Co-op's Design and Standards manager Adrian Crowther played down the thanks, saying: "It's what we do...community support is critical especially with the current pandemic effects. All the best to and the team at Thurrock Foodbank."
And that team will have the chance to have some surprises thanks to another big donation from a Thurrock-based organisation.
Sandra explains: "Thank you to Amazon in Tilbury for allowing us to collect a lot of boxes containing various items hopefully including things such as sweets, crisis and protein bars where the packaging has been damaged.
"We look forward to opening the boxes and seeing what they contain."
One of the things the Foodbank remains in need of is long life milk. Anyone who can help with that or wishes to make any other donation can contact Sandra at [email protected]
