College hosts online event for those looking for return to work

ARE you unemployed or still furloughed? Are you looking to start a new career or feel you need to upskill to get a better job?

Thurrock Adult Community College is hosting a virtual careers events for Thurrock residents aged 19 and over looking for employment, retraining or volunteering opportunities with guest speakers from key organisations in the South Essex area.

These free events have been designed in response to growing unemployment plus the number of adults seeking to retrain in the current climate and will take place through individual Zoom workshops on Wednesday, 28 April.

Expert guest speakers from Anglia Ruskin University, South Essex College, National Careers Service and Thurrock Council will talk about topics such as routes to University, Further and Higher education opportunities, planning your career or next step and Apprenticeships. Pre-booking is essential and can be arranged through this link or call the college on 01375 372476 during opening hours. Bookings will close at midnight on 26 April.

The College currently has openings for residents to volunteer in a wide range of classes and settings (including online) to help adult learners achieve their goals as well as gain confidence and experience.
