Community event on the green will extend bank holiday

PURFLEET-on-Thames Community Forum will host the town's community picnic on Tuesday with a host of activities on the green adjacent to Centurion Way.

The fun will start at 11am and run until 2pm and includes a free packed lunch for children, who will also be able to host garden games.

In addition the Purfleet Heritage and Military Centre will be open.

Among those represented at the event, as well as the forum, will be St Stephen's Community Trust, Essex Police engagement team, Purfleet Children's Centre, the RSPB and Thurrock CVS.

The event is supported by Peabody.
