THE community of South Ockendon has come together to support a grieving family following the death of a popular local man.
Graham Williams, known locally as 'Boz' died unexpectedly on Tuesday, 21 April leaving a wife and family, including grandchildren.
'Boz' was much-loved and respected throughout the local community, where he was known helping anyone in need.
He was particularly known for his love of gardening and maintaining a green space where members of the community were always welcome.
Friends and neighbours have rallied to support the family by organising a fundraising page to help with funeral costs and ensure his funeral matches his commitment to the local area.
The fundraising organiser Sonya Towler said: "Our community has lost a wonderful person. He had a heart of gold and was loved and cherished by so many of us.
"Following his sudden and tragic death, I'm reaching out for support to help the family with the unexpected funeral costs. We want to give him the best send-off possible.
"Anyone who knew Boz, knew his love and kindness to anyone that needed his help or support. He was always there.
"Boz loved his family, loved being outdoors and loved his music, as many of you have memories of him dancing with his unique bop/ His laughter will never leave us.
"He was a wonderful partner, dad, grandad, son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
"As the family navigate the devastating loss we want to relieve as much stress and pressure on them as possible, because we want to give him the memorial he deserves, to honour his memory and say our last goodbyes."
