Community unites for two days of sports and fun

By Nub News Reporter 12th Jul 2025

LINFORD Recreation ground played host today to an annual event featuring young people taking on sporting challenges.

Members of Linford Wanderers FC and Linford Boys and Girls Club, many of who are from Linford, East Tilbury or Stanford-le-Hope came together to the first of two days of togetherness.

Families turned up in numbers and visitors were encouraged to pop along and join in the community at an annual event that has been taking place for decades.

Earlier this week Thurrock Nub News was delighted to share tributes to two of the event's stalwarts, Dave Patients and Dave Bulmer who are stepping down from their roles - but will still be supporting event.

Day two starts around 10am tomorrow (Sunday, 13 July).
