A CONFERENCE is underway in Grays this morning (Saturday, 11 September) highlighting the possibilities of a tram network in the borough.

It is taking place at South Essex College and was organised by Thames Gateway Tramlink, promoters of the KenEx tramway project.

Tramlink says: "A full programme of industry professionals has been scheduled to provide an insight into this modern, sustainable form of transport which is seen as an essential part of any integrated public transport system tackling the problems of connectivity, climate change and pollution.
