POLICE have concluded here were no suspicious circumstances following the death of an as yet unnamed man in a Corringham car park last week.

Following the discovery of the body at the scene on the junction of Lampits Hill and Giffords Cross Road, emergency services were alerted and a significant police forensic operation was launched, which included sealing off the car park for several hours and also a neighbouring petrol service station.

A statement from police today (Monday, 2 August) says: "We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service to Giffords Cross Road, in Stanford-le-Hope, shortly before 3.50pm on Thursday, 29 July.

"We arrived and sadly found a man aged in his 40s had died.

"We have investigated the circumstances leading up to his death and have determined his death is not suspicious.

"A file is now being prepared for the coroner."
