THOUGH details are scarce, the Post Office has confirmed that its office in Corringham will be reopening in December.

The Post Office on St John's Way closed in February this year following the retirement of long-serving postmaster Pravin 'Bob' Patel.

Now the Post Office has told Thurrock Nub News a potential new postmaster has been found - though details are still to be formalised.

A statement from a P{ost Office spokesperson issued today (Monday, 9 October) says: "After a 10 month absence, a permanent Post Office will open in Corringham in December 2023.

"The Post Office will be in the same location as it was previously.

"As you can imagine we're finalising the details including the contract with the new Postmaster who is taking on the branch. So we hope to be able to announce further details in a few weeks."
