THURROCK Council has been asked to approve an application to turn a family dwelling in Aveley into a six room house of muliple occupancy (HMO).

The proposed site on Chichester Road, is currently a four-bedroom dwelling house, close to the village's High Street.

The applicants say the layout of the proposed HMO will meet the space standards room sizes for HMO and each room will have its own en-suite facility for greater privacy and convenience for the multiple occupants. The six room HMO will also have a communal kitchen that meets standard requirements.

The proposal will retain all existing external wall and windows while blocking out two external doors. Internal alterations will also be made to accommodate the six-ensuite room HMO.

The application (and the opportunity to comment) can be found via this link. A design and access statement is here.

Applicant Tolani Alade adds the area surrounding the site has a few HMO properties, some which are within few minutes driving distance.
