THURROCK Council is about to host a series of online events for people who wish to learn more about fostering as it seeks to increase the number of people who help look after children in the borough.

The information sessions will feature a short presentation by members of Thurrock's fostering team and then there will be the opportunity to speak with existing foster carers and social workers.

The events will take place via the Zoom platform on Thursday 28 January, 6pm to 8pm; Friday 12 February, 10am to midday; Monday 15 February, 6pm to 8pm and Saturday 6 March, 10am to 11.30am.

From April 2021, Thurrock Council Foster Carers living in Thurrock will be exempt from paying council tax.
