By Neil Speight 24th Jan 2021

MEMBERS of Thurrock Police's community police team have given details of a busy time tackling anti-social behaviour in South Ockendon, including tackling a fire.

Over the past two nights (Friday, 23 January and Saturday), Thurrock CPT B shift have been conducting patrols in the Ockendon area in response to concerns raised

A statement issued by the team says: "The operation saw our officers dispersing multiple groups of youths from areas residents told us are a problem, as well as improving our intel around the issues and serving those involved with Community Protections Notices to safeguard the community.

"Other results includes multiple stop searches, a quantity of cannabis seized and the owner processed, a vehicle seized for no insurance and a vehicle that failed to stop, that with the help of our traffic officers ended in an arrest for drunk driving.

"Most importantly we saw PC Brown trying his hand as a firefighter, until the professionals arrived and showed him how it is done."
