FROM the beginning of next month the window of opportunity opens for parents in Thurrock to register preferred choices of primary school for their children.

Parents and careers must apply between 1 November 2021 and 15 January 2022 for admissions in September 2022.

From 1 November 2021, if your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, you must apply for their reception school place for September 2022. If your child is in the last year at an infant school, you must apply for a junior school place for September 2022.

Thurrock Council's admissions timetable shows you when to apply, and when you can find out your offer. You can also find out information by downloading the schools admissions brochure.

It is possible to apply online or return to your application. By applying online you will:

  • get an email acknowledgement of your application
  • be able to check which school place has been offered from 19 April 2022

To help parents and careers the council will be hosting online webinar sessions next week to explain the admissions process, answer your questions and help you apply for a primary school place. These sessions do not promote any particular school but give an overview of the whole process. You may also attend open evenings at your preferred schools.

Sessions will take place online using Microsoft Teams. You do not need to install any software.

Simply select your preferred time to join:

Wednesday 20 October 2021, 1pm to 2pm

Wednesday 20 October 2021, 4pm to 5pm

Wednesday 20 October 2021, 6:30pm to 7:30pm
