Council revives forum for cyclists and calls for participants

AN appeal has been issued by Thurrock Council to local cyclists and those interested in cycling as the authority plans to restart its cycling forum after a gap of seven year.

Transport Planner Kristina Smith says: "I am contacting local business, clubs and forums and others that may be interested in cycling and to find out if they have anyone who might be interested in attending the cycle forum meeting which we are in the process of starting up again.

"People will be able to give their views on the cycle network in Thurrock and be able to express their comments and ideas relating to cycling in the borough."

Thurrock Council looks after more than 40 miles of cycle paths within the borough, which can be viewed on its online map here.

The council also hoists a 'Have My Say' page an open consultation on making walking and cycling better in Thurrock.
