Council takes caring info show on the road

By Nub News Reporter 17th Nov 2024

THURROCK residents are invited to get first-hand advice on the help and support available to deal with the cost of living this winter at a series of Thurrock Cares Roadshows.

Thurrock Council, in collaboration with Thurrock CVS and the Stronger Together Thurrock partnership, is hosting the roadshows and will be going out to communities across the borough.

The first of four roadshows will take place on Monday, 25 November from 10am to 1pm at Aveley Community Hub. Residents can drop-in to the free event to find out information and advice that could help with the cost of living, and to speak to staff about specific concerns and where to access support.

A range of support services from the council and its partners covering health and wellbeing, housing and utilities, finance and debt, and employment and training, alongside practical support in communities such as access to food and community pantries will be available.

Cllr Sara Muldowney, Cabinet Member for Resources, said: "We all need a helping hand now and again. Thurrock Cares has been created to let you know we are here to support you and help make sure you can manage with the cost of living.

"I know how important it is that people get the right advice at the right time. That's why we've created these roadshows to give residents an opportunity to find out what support is available to them. There is plenty of help out there, so do come along to meet our warm and friendly advisers who can help make sure you access the support you're entitled to."

More Thurrock Cares Roadshows will be held on:
