A GRAYS woman remains in custody as the court proceedings following the death of an elderly Grays resident continue.

In June Cheryl Ann Banks 60, of Lemore Avenue, Grays, was charged with the murder of 89-year-old Winfred Grover, also of Lenmore Avenue who was found dead at her home.

Banks initially appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, 25 June where she returned earlier this month for a pre-trial preparation hearing. At the hearing it was indicated that she would make a plea at the next hearing, which is due to take place in November.
