A SERIOUS collision between at least two vehicles has led to significant traffic disruption in Tilbury.

The incident this morning (Tuesday, 13 February) around 6.30 close to the town's rail station.

The road is blocked and emergency services are on the scene.

Traffic has tailed back in both directions and there are tailbacks on the A1089 Docks Approach Road.

A statement from Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike in St Andrews Road in Tilbury just before 6am this morning (13 February).

"The road was closed while emergency services worked. The road was reopened at around 8.30am."

The East of England Ambulance service added: "One man was transported to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further assessment and care."
