PLANS to build a care complex with individual homes, a private hospital, GP surgery and a crematorium on a plot of land in Bulphan have been submitted in outline format to Thurrock Council.

As a preliminary to a full planning application, the would-be site developers have asked the council for a screening option - which is is the process of determining whether an environmental impact assessment is required as part of a planning application.

This process is followed when it is likely the development will be complex or may have an adverse environmental effect.

The scheme will comprise 16 two bedroom flats in a two storey building and five two bedroom bungalows as well as the hospital, which will be more than 5,000 sq feet.
