Crews tackled paper blaze in Grays through night

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire in a recycling centre in Oliver Road, Grays at 11:38pm last night (Friday, 17 April).

On arrival, four crews reported there was a fire involving approximately 40 tonnes of paper and worked together to surround the fire.

Crews worked throughout the night to put the fire out and monitor hotspots.

The fire was fully extinguished by 7:42am.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
