Crews tackled trackside fire

FIREFIGHTERS responded quickly to deal with a railside fire on the c2c line through Grays yesterday (Saturday, 10 August).

An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two crews from Grays were called to a fire near a railway line in Thurrock at 5.26pm.

"Firefighters worked to extinguish a small fire in the bushes by 5.49pm."
