Crown court date after shopping centre arrest

A GRAYS man charged with multiple offences and described as a suspected prolific shoplifter will face a Crown Court trial next month.
Bawa Adams, 43, Oxford Avenue, was arrested on Wednesday (26 November) at Lakeside after being recognised by police officers as breaking a previous court order not to be there.
He was held in custody before appearing at Southend Magistrates yesterday (Friday, 28 November) and ius now set to attend Crown Court on 12 December. set to appear in court today (Friday 28 November).
A police statement said: "Despite previous court bail conditions not to attend Lakeside, 43-year-old Adams is suspected of committing further thefts between 13 and 26 November at Lakeside Shopping Centre and the Retail Park.
"On Wednesday 26 November, eagle-eyed Lakeside officers located and arrested him.
"He has since been charged with:
- 5 counts of theft from shop
- 1 count of criminal damage
- Multiple breaches of court bail
"The total value of stolen goods exceeds £1,600.
"Officers have applied for a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) to prevent further offending.
"We're committed to keeping our communities and businesses safe. If you see suspicious activity, report it to us – together, we can make a difference."
