Cutting crew and volunteers go the extra miles for Little Havens

By Nub News Reporter 3rd Feb 2023

THE Morrisons store in Grays was the setting for a charity event today, raising funds for Little Havens Hospice.

It was arranged by the store's community champion, Tarnya Bennett and money raised will go towards a long term fundraising target of £7,000 to try and buy a new bed for the hospice. You can donate online here.

Emma and Lynn raise a smile.

Store staff member Emma was sponsored to have her super long hair cut back by another staff member Lynn who is also a hairdresser. The plaits created and cut off will go to the Little Princess Trust charity. And another staff member, Lela, had her head shaved. Completing a trio of brave volunteers from the store, Luke had his legs waxed!

The event also included a static 'virtual' cycle marathon to Little Havens and back (twice) with volunteers from the Ambulance Service and Royal British Legion as well as store staff taking part on the cycle and collecting.

Pupils from Treetops.

Students from Treetops School also wanted to support the event and a group visited to share in this morning's activities and cheer on the participants.
