A THURROCK dance teacher is relishing the lifting of lockdown regulations and can't wait to get back to helping young people fulfil their artistic potential and get fit.
Brooke North runs 'BB's Dance Academy' based at the Tilbury Riverside Arts Centre and is keen to promote the opportunity for young people to get out of their bedrooms and back into physical activity as pandemic restrictions are eased.
Brooke says: "I am trying to promote getting children of all ages back to dance, out of their bedrooms, off their screens and back to fitness through tap, street, contemporary, ballet and acro dance and by singing!
"I also run a club for toddlers called Tiny Tappers which promotes dance from the age of 18 months
"Now is the time to reach out to all children and promote movement, release some endorphins and get their fitness back – and they can have a lot of fun on the way."
Dance schools are set to re-open from Monday, 12 April and Brooke believes it's not a moment too soon.
She adds: "I feel it's very important for all children to get back to what they love! With children's mental health issues higher than ever, now is the time to get the word out.
"And lets also not forget the parents who need some time to themselves while their child attends dancing.
"Dance and singing encourages motor skills, Strength, better coordination, weight management, flexibility and it encourages happier Mental Health. It's also a chance to make new friends."
