TIPTOE Stage School, one of Thurrock's most established theatre schools, have swept the board bringing home medals from the Dance World Cup.

Based in South Ockendon, five pupils – William Faria (14) Reed Cooke (11), Mollie Griffin (14), Lillie-Ella Morris (15) and Poppie Morris (11) were selected to represent the country in this year's Dance World Cup in Spain.

Out of 62 countries they achieved:

2 x solo silver medals, 1 x solo bronze, 1 x duet bronze, along with 4th and 10th placings in other categories.  

Commenting on the success, TipToe Co-Principal, Elena Carter - Watts said: "What an achievement! We flew out on Friday to take part in the opening ceremony with the other countries. Seeing the England flags being proudly waved was a real moment for all of us at TipToe. We couldn't be prouder of them.

"Three of the girls we're also honoured to be invited to share the stage with Elite Acro Dance Associates which was lovely. The girls gained a Silver medal in this routine as well as Lillie becoming world champion in her group Acro routine.

"They've represented the borough and country and we could not be more pleased for them."

Principal Julie Carter also commented: "We told them the most important thing was to have fun and enjoy every single moment.

"And that mantra underpins everything we do at TipToe. But we're blown away by their hard work and commitment. And that applies to all of pupils who we're very fortunate to have".

There's no rest for the school, as it's straight back into rehearsals for the schools 40th anniversary show which is being held at the Towngate Theatre in May next year. All of this is alongside exams, competitions, festivals, and filming.
