Mural brings new look to centre's garden

By Nub News Reporter 26th Jul 2025

RESIDENTS of Broome Place sheltered housing complex in Aveley helped create a charming and original mural.

The project started when one of the tenants suggested creating an artwork to enhance the communal gardens which are maintained by the residents.

Staff supported the idea and, with help from Start Thurrock, obtained funding and commissioned K&B Designs which produces bespoke murals.

The two artists Brittany and Kirsty from Tilbury-based K&B Designs met with residents who contributed their ideas, which were incorporated into the design.

This included a tranquil woodland scenery with water, wildlife such as a robin, a family of ducks, butterflies and a hedgehog and a lovely quote 'may the sun always brighten your path'.

The design team at K&B, Kirsty and Brittany, have previously featured on Thurrock Nub News.
