Decision on flats plan for Springhouse Club is delayed for a site visit

COUNCILLORS have deferred making a decision on plans to build four apartment blocks on the site of the Springhouse Club in Corringham.

The scheme was recommended for approval and due for debate at a meeting of Thurrock Council's planning committee this evening (Thursday, 7 January) but as they approached the end of a long and arduous five and a half hour meeting, councillors decided it would be worthwhile for them to visit the site and see it for themselves.

They have asked that a site visit takes place at a time when the area is busy, so they can see for themselves concerns expressed by local residents about congestion.
