Delays after vehicle hit crossing barrier

RAIL services and local traffic were disrupted after an early morning incident in Stanford-le-Hope today (Thursday, 9 January), when a truck drove into crossing barriers at Stanford-le-Hope.

The Thurrock loop c2c was temporarily following the incident that happened at 6.04 am.

British Transport Police were alerted and attended the incident.

Rail services in east and west directions were disrupted as repair work to the barriers took place.

It was reopened at around 8.19 am.

Transport police say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
