Despite best efforts of emergency services, man at Blackshots was pronounced dead

POLICE have reported that a man who was at the centre of a medical emergency on Blackshots Fields yesterday evening (Tuesday, 1 August) was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of emergency services.

Ambulances and the Essex Air Ambulance attended when the alarm was raised, but they were unable to resuscitate the man, a local resident who has not yet been named.

A statement from the East of England ambulance Service said: "Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a man was pronounced dead at the scene." 

Essex Police added: "Officers arrived and, sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious."
