A THURROCK-based charity that helps the homeless has been boosted by a donation of £2,300 from an event held in East Tilbury over the weekend.

A charity quiz night on Saturday (16 April)at the Dickens Bar in the village  proved extremely popular and a packed crowd enjoyed a night of questions, answers and fundraising which featured the auction of signed shirt from West Ham United legend Mark Noble – that went for £850 in an auction.

The money raised will benefit the Friends of Essex & London Homeless.

Mark Noble's shirt was a big moneyraiser.
