Council tells parents if they have been successful in choice of primary school
FIGURES released by Thurrock Council today (Tuesday, 19 April) reveal the majority of children across the borough will receive one of their top three primary school choices for the September 2022 academic year.
However, the council has not specified how many families got their first choice.
The council says that, from the 2,344 applications received this year, more than over 96 per cent of children have been offered one of their top three places.
A total of 98.3 per cent of primary school places were applied for online, an increase of 0.5 per cent in 2021.
Parents who applied for their child's primary school place online will be able to view which school has been allocated via their online account. For those who did not apply online, an offer letter should have been posted today.
Similarly, last month the council announced that 90.9 per cent of parents were offered their top three preference secondary school for this September. Again the council did not release figures saying how many people got their first choice.
Waiting lists for school places will be ready on Thursday, 5 May. From this date, the council will be able to advise parents and carers of their waiting list positions for Thurrock schools. For waiting lists at schools outside the borough, you must contact the relevant schools local authority.
