A DONATION was handed over this morning (Saturday, 25 March) that will fund up to four lifesaving defibrillators in Tilbury.

The gift was presented by Stephen Boyling of Montana Property Development, which is based in the town, to local ward councillor John Allen.

Mr Boyling said he was pleased to make the presentation as he lost his parents to heart conditions, saying "had technology been available at the time it might have helped them. I am pleased to help Tilbury."

Cllr Allen expressed gratitude for the gift and said he hoped the first machine would be placed at the Sai Medical Centre on Calcutta Road, with others placed at strategic points around the town.
