Doubling up at the Thameside
By Nub News Reporter 8th Jun 2026
THUIRROCK's two leading Am-Dram and Musical Theatre companies have back-to-back shows at the Thameside Theatre in Grays, starting this week.
On Wednesday night it's curatins up for Thurrock Courts Players' production of Abigail's Party.
Abigail's Party is a biting satire of British middle-class aspirations in the 1970s, made famous by a legendary TV production.
Taking on the roles of the hosting couple for Courts Players are the now familiar faces of Sophie Nash and Michael Southgate, joined once again by Jill Snelling, who starred in last year's production of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice which scooped the NODA award for Best Drama, an accolade the group have won, or been nominated for, year on year. No sooner will the stage have been cleared after Saturday night's final performance, then TOPS will be moving in with their production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
It opens on Thursday, 18 June and there will be four performances including a Saturday matinee. Book tickets here.
