Youngsters lead the way on saving our planet
By Nub News Reporter 8th Jun 2026
PARENTS and East Thurrock MP James McMurdock got up close and personal with emotive work by pupils at Horndon on the Hill primary School today (Monday, 8 June).
Every class in the school have been taking part in Christian Aid's Creativity for Climate Justice art project which is designed to educate the children about climate justice and empower them to, through art, call for change.
The project has been led by Art and DT lead Andrew Hayles who said: "Our school is keen to promote climate change through various innovations around the school, including a pupil led Eco-cadet group, an eco-garden, a wildlife area and an outdoor prayer space. We are also extremely proud to say that we can now add the accolade of being a Forest School."
Borough MP Mr McMurdock visited the school this morning and talked to youngsters about their work, with parents visiting the exhibiton at close of the school day.
