TWO regulars at a Thurrock pub are halfway through a drinking challenge that has taken them across the country – and already raised thousands of pounds for St Luke's Hospice.

Regulars Steve Wiffin and Kev Mackenzie, patrons of the Rising Sun in Stanford-le-Hope, are two recently-retired drinking buddies who set themselves the challenge of having a pint (at least!) in every single Rising Sun pub in the UK (apparently there are 129).

They will be donating to each pub's chosen charity along their travels, however, they are also hoping to raise a nice amount of money for the Stanford pub's own charity of choice, St Luke's Hospice, Basildon.

They have set up a Just Giving page and will be grateful for all donations received and all of your support along the way.

Steve recently reported: "The half way point on the challenge has been passed, 69/129 Rising Suns visited. We have supped some fine pints, met some great people but most importantly raised more than £2,690 (with Gift Aid) for a very worthy cause.

"All further contributions gratefully received!"

If you would like to donate and support Steve and Kev's charity challenge and support a great cause then click on this link. All donations will go directly to St Luke's Hospice through the Just Giving Portal.
