Election day dawns. Polling stations are made ready. A reminder of candidates across Thurrock

ACROSS Thurrock this morning (Thursday, 7 May, polling booths were being made ready for an all-out election to find 49 councillors to run the borough council.

Voting was due to begin at 7am and polling stations will be open until 10am tonight.

The count of votes will not take place until tomorrow, when Thurrock Nub News will be reporting from the Civic hall in Grays as papers are counted and results recorded.

A full list of polling stations can be found via this link. There will be an opportunity to vote for two or three separate candidates depending on the size of the ward.

Remember to take photographic ID to the polling station.
