End of tip access diversion should happen next week - but restrictions will still be in place this weekend

By Neil Speight 13th Aug 2020

THE end is in sight for restrictions at Thurrock Council's household recycling centre at Linford and, as of next Monday (17), the one way traffic system on Buckingham Hill Road will be removed.

The council has declined to confirm all the details to Thurrock Nub News, but we understand that the traffic management plan will be removed and two way traffic will be allowed on Buckingham Hill Road, with Butts Lane and Walton Hall Road reverting also to two way traffic routes.

Social distancing guidance will still be in place at the tip and the council have told councillors they will be "monitoring the situation to ensure road safety isn't compromised".

The council also says it will be putting signs in place on all the affected roads to make road users aware of the changes - but would not confirm the changes to us.

This weekend, starting tomorrow evening (Friday, 14 August), previous road restrictions implemented when the A13 road widening works mean the closure of both east and west carriageways at the Orsett Cock Roundabout will be in place.

This means there will also be traffic restrictions at Horndon on the Hill and Buckingham Hill Road will be closed temporarily in both directions between the entrance to Linford Household Waste and Recycling Centre and the A1013 Stanford Road.
