COMMUNITY radio station Gateway 97.8, which serves Basildon and East Thurrock, has received a prestigious Princess Royal Training Award for a third time.

The national award celebrates organisations that put learning and development at the heart of what they do and can show the real and lasting impact that investing in people makes. Receiving this recognition is a proud moment for the radio station, made even better by succeeding three times.

The Award recognises Gateway 97.8 for its work training young people through the Radio Club, work experience and training schemes.

While the Award highlights the success of the programme, it is ultimately a celebration of the people behind it: those who designed it, delivered it, championed it and, most importantly, those who took part in it.

The station has created opportunities for learning, growth and development that have led to meaningful results for volunteers, the station and our local area.
