Family stunned as popular entertainer's grave is trashed

VANDALS has attacked and wreaked the grave of a popular Thurrock entertainer and his father-in-law, leaving their family shocked and devastated.

John 'Johnny' Clark was a popular entertainer and comedian who passed away during the Covid pandemic, prompting many tributes.

He is fondly remembered at Langdon Hills Golf Club where he was based for many years.

Mr Clark is interred at the Bowers Gifford cemetery, alongside his father-in-law Len Samuels.

Mr Samuels' wife was alerted by the cemetery authorities and rushed to the site with Johnny's widow, Trudi.

"It was just heartbreaking," said Trudi. "The headstones and everything had been smashed.

"My mum, who is 83, was just in tears, this has shattered her and I feel heartbroken myself - as do other family members including my son Jay.

"It's impossible to know why anyone would do this, what could be the motive?

"If anyone knows who did this or why, please contact the police on 101."

Jay added: "We are extremely disgusted, saddened and angry some vile human being could sink this low."
