Maldon & Tiptree 1, Tilbury 2

DOCKERS pulled of the result of the day in the Bet Victor Isthmian league, inflicting a first league defeat of the season on the home turf of the Jammers.

The hosts had won all but one of their previous fixtures, drawing the other, but two late goals from Tilbury saw them victorious - and it cemented their place in the play-off zone.

All the goals came in the second half with Laste Dombaxe giving Maldon the lead on 51 minutes.

Tilbury drew level on 79 minutes through Thomas Barton and grabbed a winner three minutes later when William Cracknell put through his own goal.

Grays Athletic 1, Great Wakering Rovers 0

A GOAL in the 89th minute secure three Bet Victor Isthmian North points for Grays Athletic.

The match at Parkside had looked to be heading for stalemate but when Rovers keeper Booby Mason was unable to deal with Mitch Hahn's fierce shot from the edge of the box the ball looped up and Joao Carlos shashed home the winner with a superb volley.

  • AVELEY FC and their fans were left disappointed and frustrated when the match referee called off their game at Coggeshall just an hour before kick-off!

Avelely will be back in action quickly as they entertain Felixstowe & Walton on Monday evening.
