PLANS are well underway for a third canoe paddle and fundraising event in memory of a young mum from Thurrock.

Borough resident Zoe Thomas has already organised two extremely successful events paying tribute to her sister Vikki Cordina and a third will happen in August this year.

Vikki died in August 2017 aged 43 just days after the first symptoms of meningitis were diagnosed.

She left behind a heartbroken husband, a six-year-old bewildered daughter and a devastated family. But even in death Vikki, praised by her sister Zoe Thomas for her love of life and caring and generous nature, ensured life would carry on.

Her organs were donated and Vikki saved three lives the day hers was taken!

In tribute, as both shared a love of life on the water, Zoe organised a canoe paddle event on the Medway in memory of her sister and the first two events have raised many thousands of pounds for good causes.

Now they are looking to make the third event an even bigger success.

You can find out about the event and how to take part by visiting the 'The Paddle 2020 for Meningitis Research in Memory of Vikki' via the red button below.
