FAMILY, friends, fellow sportsmen and women and former colleagues turned out in force today (Wednesday, 11 November) to say farewell to much-loved and highly respected Clive Banbury.

A stalwart of many local clubs including Thurrock Rugby Club and Grays Rotary Club the former senior borough engineer, who spent much of his working lifetime improving Thurrock, passed away recently.

A funeral service took place under coronavirus restrictions at Corbets Tey today, but not before Clive made a final journey through his home village of North Stifford where dozens of local people turned out to pay their respects and walk behind his coffin as it slowly made its way from his home our of the village for one last time.
