A VOLUNTEER service that helps people in Thurrock is seeking help from local people as its workload increases due to coronavirus.

Thurrock Mind has issued an appeal for people to come forwards as act as

befrienders or peer mentors for people affected by lockdown.

Those who are able to help will be asked to do so by telephone or digital media and Thurrock Mind says those who help will also be beneficiaries as volunteering helps support your own well-being, helps you connect to the local community and you will gain skills and life experience that may be useful in the future.

Full training and support will be available.

A spokesperson for Thurrock Mind said: "Due to the impact of Covid-19, people are struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. Can you spare time to volunteer with us?"

To apply, contact Thurrock Mind on 01375 391411 or email [email protected].
