A CORRINGHAM cafe is once more set to open its doors to elderly, lonely and vulnerable people for a free Christmas Day lunch.
After the success of an initial event last year, Louise Watkins of Mama's Cabin on St John's Way will be welcoming guests on 25 December thanks to the support of local businesses and regular customers.
"It went well last year and we know there's a lot of people who face being alone on Christmas day so we're pleased to be doing it again," said Louise.
Staff and regulars have got behind the idea already, offering their services and donations, while nearby businesses including The Chop Shop, Morrisons and Betty's Bits & bobs have also pledged support.
"We are very grateful to them," said Louise, "It shows the community spirit in the town."
Already 16 people have signed up to join in the festive day fun which will include entertainment and a Christmas gift.
Anyone who would like to join them for the meal is asked to call Louise on 07301 898973 or pop into the cafe to book.
