FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze on land near Belhus Park last night (Wednesday, 8 July).

An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called a fire near Belhus Park in Aveley at 8:20pm.

"On arrival, two crews reported a grass and a tree were on fire and worked to put it out.

"The cause of the fire could not be determined."
