FIREFIGHTERS tackled two separate incidents in Thurrock this afternoon (Saturday, 19 September).

Their first call was to Fort Road in Tilbury to deal with a blaze near the Grade II historic building listed World's End pub.

Crews were dispatched at 3.56pm and on arrival confirmed it was a small fire away from the pub building involving pallets and general waste. The fire was the extinguished by 4.21pm.

Alarm bells were ringing again just more than an hour later when crews were called to a shed fire in Stratford Gardens, Stanford-le-Hope at 5.30pm. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 6.13pm.
