Fly-tippers slammed for insult to community spirit as sofas and junk are dumped on open spaces

By Neil Speight 21st Feb 2021

IT'S a case of sofa not so good in Tilbury this morning (Sunday, 21 February) as the work of overnight fly-tippers was revealed.

A sofa was dumped on an open space in Fielding Avenue while another turned up on Church Road, together with another pile of junk.

Both sites will now have to be cleaned up by Thurrock Council at the expense of council taxpayers.

Local councilor John Allen says: "It truly saddens me that people feel it's acceptable to do this!

"This is a total disregard for the neighbourhood. These people who commit such crimes sadly have no pride or regard for the community around them."
