TO add to congestion already caused by the closure of the A13 between the Manorway at Stanford-le-Hope and the Orsett Cock junction, an incident this morning is causing further delays on the westbound carriageway on the approach to the Manorway.

The incident, which was attended by police happened about a mile past the Five Bells junction and traffic backed up.

A police statement says: "Shortly after 9.30am this morning, Sunday 21 February, we were called with reports of a broken down vehicle on the A13 at Corringham. Officers attended and a 33-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

"He remains in police custody."
