SCHOOLS and nurseries across the borough have been sent a festive 'thank-you' from Thurrock Foodbank.

The Corringham-based charity's business co-ordinator Sandra Sawle has contacted Thurrock Nub News and asked us to publicise the efforts of 32 schools who have helped the foodbank over recent months, particularly by collecting food items following harvest festivals.

Sandra says: "We are truly grateful for the outstanding kindness and generosity of our school and nursery communities.

"7,193.7kg is an amazing amount. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who donated to this harvest.

"You are making a real difference to many Thurrock families who need the services of Thurrock Foodbank."
