Formal application for new homes estate in Corringham is submitted

DEVELOPERS have now released plans for a 320 new home site in the Corringham green belt and, after a consultation exercise, have made a formal planning application.
The Telescope Property Group is seeking outline planning permission for the homes on land adjacent to Lampits Hill and Mossbourne Fobbing Academy (Gable Hall Schoo).
If approved, the 27-acre Northlands View development will have a mix of houses and apartment blocks with courtyards and mews streets which will be "shared" by motorists and pedestrians.
The plans include a 70-bed retirement home near a village green intended to be the "vibrant heart of the community".
A footpath runs through the centre of the site, connecting the local community through the site towards the Ortu Gable Hall school and Performer's College.

In its application, Telescope says: "The vision for Northlands View seeks to create a new community on the edge of Corringham, responding to the existing setting, wider context and future growth context of the local area.
"The vision is to create a safe, scenic, and inviting environment for future residents and the local community. Landscape plays a defining role in the site's articulation, fostering the creation of a place where people can live, work, relax, play and socialise, and where their health and wellbeing is a priority."
The company added: "This prime location offers residents an idyllic green setting, fostering well-being and accessibility, with easy connections to both community life and nature.
"Streets are designed to prioritise people—shared surface streets invite intuitive and enjoyable journeys on foot and by bicycle, seamlessly linking the community with its green spaces and the wider area."
Telescope held a public consultation in March for the plan which is set to have 50 per cent affordable housing.
At the consultation, the group said the development would bring "investment in local infrastructure, including schools, healthcare, and highways as well as Job creation during construction."
It added: "Telescope Property Group is bringing forward proposals which include up to 320 new homes, alongside retirement and care facilities, set within a high-quality landscaped environment."
