Former Carcraft site could become steel distribution centre. And more local planning applications

A FORMER car sales warehouse could be brought back into use as a distribution centre for a metals business if a technical change to planning permission is approved.

The former Carcraft showroom at Weston Avenue, West Thurrock, became vacant when the company collapsed and went into administration in 2015.

Planning permission for a change of use for the large empty building was granted in 2018, when it was earmarked as a distribution centre for a drinks company.

It is now earmarked as a site for Kloeckner Metal UK, a sheet metal distribution business but to lawfully use the site they need to get the usage for the site amended in planning records.
