RESIDENTS in Stanford-le-Hope have been remembering, with much fondness, a former optician in the town.

Robin Bunn passed away on 9 December, but news of his death has only recently reached local ears as he moved away and before his death lived in Surrey.

Mr Bunn ran R. J. Bunn Opticians at 10 King Street for 30 years.

His funeral will take place on Tuesday 27 January at 12.30pm at Randalls Crematorium in Leatherhead, Surrey.

A statement from his wife Anne says: "All who knew him are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.

"Family flowers only, please. Should anyone like to donate something please donate to Friends of East Surrey Hospital."
